If the wall control works but a remote does not, the request may concern the remote or its programming. If the motor runs while the door stays still, the drive or connection may need attention. A heavy or uneven door can also make an opener struggle.
Tell us which controls work, any indicator lights or error messages, and the make and model on the opener label. Do not bypass safety sensors or increase force settings to overcome a door problem.
Comparing repair and a new opener
Consider the existing unit’s condition, availability of suitable parts, controls and safety features alongside the repair scope. A replacement also needs to suit the garage door and its installation space.
